The Indian Ocean region which includes Sri Lanka is covered by the International Whaling Commission. Consequently, it has become a more popular destination for whale and dolphin watching. Because Point Dondra is situated directly off the migratory route between Africa and Australia it’s a fantastic place to see blue and sperm whales. In addition, Kalpitiya is a great place to see dolphins.
